Maui 2011 066Located on the Ka’anapali Beach, the Westin Resort and Spa is a moderate deluxe resort with a successful focus on keeping a Hawaiian cultural feel. It is a contemporary resort that was remodeled in 2010. The grounds cover 12 acres and have ocean view and mountain view rooms available. There is direct beach access and access to the Ka’anapali boardwalk allowing easy access to the adjacent Whalers Village shops and restaurants and the entire Ka’anapali area.

The 759 rooms are in two towers with 11 floors. Common areas are competently landscaped with a tropical theme. Off of the lobby, the common areas contain upper end shops that give the area a somewhat commercial feel, but gives you shopping options that you can charge to your room. 

….Maui 2011 068 The property has three restaurants and three bars  and the Wailele Polynesian Luau that is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Tropica offers fine dining Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 to 9:30. The bar opens at 4:30.

There are 5 interconnected pools on the property, one of which is an adults only pool.  The water slide is a kids favorite. The resort also has access to the famous Kaanapali beach and boardwalk. Great snorkeling is a 10 minute walk down the boardwalk to Blackrock. There are numerous great restaurants in Whalers Village which is a short walk away.

Maui 2011 070 The resort fee of $25 covers self parking, local phone calls, internet access, area shuttle service, fitness center, two bottles of water a day, and an outdoor set 4×6 portrait. The room includes the signature Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Spa. Peak season is 6/16-8/14/11, value season in 2011 is 1/8-1/31, 4/1-6/15 and 8/15-12/23.
